Apparently this was the first of the Waverly sister’s story but I didn’t mind reading them out of order because Allen is such a good author they function independently. If you can read them in order do it because this one made me love the characters even more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love stories about family members returning for redemption after big life events and if you are a fan of Alice Hoffman you’ll like Allen. My favorite thing about her is her ability to mix real life and deeply thoughtful stories with a hint of magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There are a few very jarring real life events that serve the story well but could be upsetting to read. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The Waverly sisters are special. One can cook things that change events and one can cut hair to guide your life. If I was a Waverly I’d want my drawings to come to life.
