I loooooooved She Died Famous. I devoured it as soon as I got it! Which was forever ago so apologies for holding out on this gem. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rutkin has created a multifaceted piece of art that weaves multiple stories and times seamlessly in and out of one another so organically I can’t imagine what it must have been like to plan. I’m picturing yarn and push pins. Only a true writer can pull that off without you noticing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kelli herself is so layered and complicated in a good way I couldn’t decide if she was an entitled Hollywood brat, genius artist living her art, or straight up Harley Quinn crazy. It gave her an old Hollywood romance that doesn’t exist anymore. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kaleb is so perfectly flawed you question nothing. You know him. He’s someone you’ve met in a bar or had a weird elevator conversation with. You want to like him, and you do. You also want to tell him to get his shit together. Get in here buddy. You need a hug and a burger. Maybe a nap? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is absolutely a “yes! and...” story. I’m truly honored to have received a copy! Kyle is so talented. I can’t wait to read whatever he creates next!
