I really struggled to finish this one and wound up skimming my way to the end. The premise is fun but the circumstances become too outlandish, there are too many characters to keep track of, and the happenings never seemed to coincide with reasonable emotion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’m from the area this mob-esque caper takes place in so some of the discrepancies came from my questioning why the author decided to set it in the Midwest. The components are there but it just doesn’t “fit”. You should still try it on for size. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
